The engineering part is sound, but you are evaluating a Geopolitical Escape Hatch as if it were a clean-energy startup. You conclude that the future of this technology depends on whether the cons get smaller or batteries get cheaper. The actual race has nothing to do with battery arbitrage. It is a race between Terrestrial Vulnerability and Orbital Sovereignty.

To the Tech Lords, this is not a regulatory convenience; it is the entire objective function.

If you build an 11-Gigawatt AI training cluster in Texas or the UAE, it exists in the physical world. A hostile governor can seize it under emergency powers. A labor union can blockade its supply lines. A desperate population, rendered economically obsolete by the very AI training inside the building, can physically burn it down. We're already seeing this in the Iran attacks on AWS Infrastructure.

In Low Earth Orbit, none of those vulnerabilities exist. There are no subpoenas, no strike lines, and no mobs in a vacuum.

Even the 'Con' you listed, space debris and the Kessler cascade, is actually their ultimate defense mechanism. By putting the cognitive core of the new economy in LEO, they create a planetary hostage situation. Any nation-state that attempts to shoot down the AI sattelite with an ASAT missile triggers a debris cascade that destroys global GPS and communications. They are using the Earth's orbital shell as a kinetic shield.

They aren't spending $1,500/kg to save money on evaporative cooling. They are building a castle in the sky so that when the automation curve hits terminal velocity and the ground catches fire, the Server remains untouched.
